AMD Names VP of Network Products Division

AMD Names VP of Network Products Division

SUNNYVALE, CA -- December 15, 1997 --AMD recently named Laila R. Razouk vice president of Network Products Division, responsible for the development, engineering and marketing of its network solutions. Razouk reports to Rich Previte, president and chief operating officer, and S. Atiq Raza, chief technical officer.

"With her immense product knowledge and innovative spirit, we are confident that Laila will lead the Network Products division to continued technological and market success," said Raza.

Razouk joined AMD in 1977 as a design engineer. She has held various design and program management positions in the network products division. Prior to her appointment as VP, Razouk was director of network infrastructure, overseeing the development of ethernet transceivers, repeaters and switches. During her tenure with AMD, the networking division has been credited with industry innovations such as bringing to market the first low-cost 10BASE-T Ethernet hub/repeater, the first fully integrated device for Ethernet 10BASE-T adaptor cards and Magic Packet technology, the first network power management initiative, which serves as the foundation of many today's key power management technology.

Razouk holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Cairo University in Egypt. She has both a master's and a doctorate in electrical engineering from Purdue University.
