AMD Honored For Its ‘Commitment To Community’By Greater Austin Chamber Of Commerce
—AMD marks 25th year in Austin with Third Chamber Award in Four Years鈥?/i>
AUSTIN, TX -- August 19, 2004 --AMD (NYSE: AMD) was honored with the Commitment to Community Award in the large business category by the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce. The award marks the third such honor for AMD since the Chamber of CommerceIt's program started in 2001. In that inaugural year, AMD also received the Commitment to Community award, and in 2003 AMD was recognized with the Innovative Business award for the success of the AMD Opteron™ processor.

AMD was nominated for this award by the United Way Capital Area Volunteer Center. The nomination was based on several key AMD-led initiatives that helped the center connect more than 10,000 individuals, families and organizations to volunteer opportunities last year.
